Arkham data: Mt Gox Wallet transfers over $700 million worth of Bitcoin to unknown wallet
According to data from blockchain intelligence company Arkham, the wallet of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox experienced a movement at 7am Taiwan time on Wednesday (21st), sending 12000 bitcoins (worth approximately $709.44 million) to an unknown wallet address starting with "1PuQB", while also transferring 1264.69 BTC (worth $74.77 million) to an address identified as Arkham's cold wallet. These funds have not been further transferred to other addresses.
Last week, a wallet that had previously received over $2 billion worth of Bitcoin (BTC) from Mt. Gox initiated a small transaction. Arkham speculated that the wallet may be held by the cryptocurrency custodian BitGo and may have been a test transaction before initiating Mt. Gox repayment operations. BitGo is the fifth and final trading platform to collaborate with the restructuring trustee of Mt. Gox, assisting in the repayment of funds to Mt. Gox creditors.
